Samurai Sword SHINGEN TAKEDA style Tachi Sword
【Description】
Born on November 3rd, 1521 , TAKEDA SHINGEN was the first brother in the renowned family TAKEDA in Kai Province (Today’s Yamanashi Pref.) He represented the Takeda clan during the Sengoku period. He is famous for the ten years of war against the Uesugi clan – the Battle of Kawanakajima (Circa 1553-1564 A.D.) – in which Shingen eventually defeated Uesugi and conquered the north-west coast of Japan.Teaming up with other clans around Kai, he also initiated defiance against Tokugawa Ieyasu, who later became the Shogun of the following period Edo (1603-1868 A.D.). He once defeated Ieyasu in the Battle of Mikatagahara (1572 A.D.).Shingen’s army was widely known for its cavalry unit. This product best reflects features of his own Tachi, the type of Katana used on horseback. It also compliments Shingen’s iconic color red, which he also applied to represent his clan.【Blade】
