The original copy of this replica sword was owned by UESUGI KENSHIN (1530-1578 A.D.) from the Echigo province during the Sengoku period. He had worn a lot of titles
-‘Dragon of Echigo’ as opposed to Takeda Shingen’s ‘Tiger of Kai.
-‘God of War,’ which comes from his God-like insight in strategy
-‘Incarnation of Bishamon-Ten’

After his religious views on Buddhism and the Japanese God, Bishamon-Ten.Kenshin and his Uesugi clan rose from the north-west coast of Japan to help develop his local and its alliances. And he got involved in countless conflicts between his realm and its counterparts.
He also defied against the Takeda clan from the south of Echigo, the Kai province ruled by Takeda Shingen. It was later called the Battles of Kawanakajima, at which those clans had fought over ten years.According to further research, there are a couple of episodes related to the sword as follows:

*Himezuru was the name of a lady who showed up in the swordsmith’s dream, that told him to not Suriage (Downsize) the sword the night he had the offer from Kenshin.

*This sword does not have Tsuba (The handguard) as Kenshin had thought he would not have to use it: He had that much faith in his sword techniques.
