Plant, Vegetable Motif

In Japan, Japanese apricot blossoms and cherry blossoms have been appreciated since a long time ago. We have beautiful flowers such as chrysanthemums and maples, whose color transition represents the four seasons. Japanese people enjoy using these flower patterns for Tsuba.

Including bamboos or pine trees, there are also plant designs representing eternal youth, good health, or rich harvest. Some of them are believed it will protect people from evil spirits. These designs would show us people’s wishes for life.
