This vertical stand features an exquisite spring motif of plum blossoms (梅, Ume), accompanied by two birds — a Japanese bush warbler (鶯, Uguisu) perched in the background and a Jay (カケス, Kakesu) in the foreground — skillfully rendered in Takamaki-e (高蒔絵, raised gold lacquer) and Raden (螺鈿, mother-of-pearl inlay). The scene captures a poetic moment where the two birds rest among blooming plum branches, expressing the serenity and renewal of early spring.
In Japanese art, birds and plum blossoms have long been depicted together as auspicious symbols of harmony, vitality, and the coming of spring. The Uguisu, celebrated for its gentle song, heralds the season’s arrival, while the Jay, known for its intelligence and striking plumage, represents liveliness and good fortune. We normally ship via EMS (Express Mail Service) provided by Japan Post. It usually takes at least 5-14 days to deliver the package after you place an order. Time of delivery is estimated as accurately as possible by the carrier but does not take into account any delays beyond our control such as by inclement weather, post office holiday seasons.

【Antique Japanese item and Export process】
After receiving the full payment from you, we will apply for its export permit from the Board of Education to legally export the item to other countries. It normally takes around 2 to 4 weeks to receive this permit. And we would like you to expect at least 1.0 – 1.5 months for your order to arrive at your given address after you ordered.
