\u3010Handguard\u3011<\/strong><\/span>
\n\u00a0Yotsu-Mokkou shaped handguard with Kozuka and Kougai holes. Mokkou shape, its base form was eggs in nests. After that, as a cross-section of Mokkou looks similar to this design, it was named Mokkou shape. Yotsu-Mokkou is a combination of four Mokkou shape. There are also Futatsu-Mokkou (two Mokkou) and Mitsu-Mokkou (three Mokkou). Branches and leaves are designed with the Sukashi-Bori technique (openwork). The veins are carved on each leaf. <\/span>
\n\"\"<\/p>\n

\u3010Scabbard\u3011<\/strong><\/span>
\n\u00a0The scabbard is painted with glossy black lacquer. During the refining stage of lacquer, it’s mixed with iron. The luster of the black coat is made from the oxidation effect of iron.<\/span>
\n\"\"<\/p>\n

\u3010Handle\u3011<\/strong><\/span>
\n\u00a0The handle is covered with stingray skin to reinforce the handle and not slip when its owner holds it. The brown thread includes the handle with Hishi-Maki technique, a kind of Tsukamaki method.<\/span>
\n\"\"<\/p>\n

\u3010Pommel\u3011<\/strong><\/span>
\n\u00a0Small flowers are engraved on the pommel. These flowers might be Kikyou (Japanese bellflower), which was once used to tell one’s fortune (\u5409\u51f6, Kikkyou). According to a theory, it’s the origin of this flower’s name. Lots of Samurai used this flower pattern for their family crests.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>
