Antique Samurai Armor<\/strong><\/p>\n

Kabuto (helmet)<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

\u25a0Helmet bowl: Sabiji\u00a0 Hakken Suji Kabuto<\/p>\n

The helmet was made in the early Edo period based on the signature on it. It was signed by Munemitsu(\u5b97\u5149) from Myochin school, a famous armor-making school that has been continuing for generations. Today, 25th master of Myochin still produces Samurai armor.<\/p>\n

Suji Kabuto used many small riveted iron plates to form its shape. This helmet used Hakken (eight in Japanese) iron plates.The surface is Tetsusabiji style, which only applied lacquer for paint base for the iron not to get rusty. It looks less shiny than normal lacquered surface.
\n\"\" \"\" \"\"<\/p>\n

There is a family crest whose design is circle and ivy(Tsuta) on Fukikaeshi(small ear-shape thing sticking from the helmet).
\nIvy family crest is known as one of the ten most common family crests in Japan. Ivy is a climbing plant, and it spreads through other plants or buildings. It is regarded as a strong vitality and often used as a design of Japanese family crests. The letter of \u8526(Tsuta) means ivy in Japanese. This Kanji letter is a combination of flourishing plants and flying birds in the sky, signifying good luck.
\nFamous feudal clan, To-Do(\u85e4\u5802) family, also used this family crest. And Matsudaira family, a relative of Tokugawa shogun family, also used a similar crest.<\/p>\n

The front decoration(Maedate) is made of wood. Its design is Shikami(\u7345\u5b50\u565b or \u9b45). Shikami is the head part of Shishi, a mythological animal that looks like a demon. It was one of the most popular theme for the design of Samura helmet, armor and so forth.
\n\"\" \"\"<\/p>\n

\u25a0Shikoro(side neck guard):
\nBlack lacquered 4 layers of half-circle shaped iron plates laced with navy blue<\/p>\n

\u25a0Menpo(face guard):Tsubakurobo(Half mask)
\nTsubakurobo means half-face guard that protects the wearer’s chin and cheek. The name of Tsubakurobo comes from the fact that its shape resembles a flying swallow(Tsubame in Japanese.)

\u25a0Do(Cuirass):
\nTetsusabiji 5 iron-plated Okegawa Do laced with navy blue thread. Instead of using a large number of small lamellar plates called Kozane, This cuirass used large rectangular shaped iron plates riveted.The name Okegawa came from the fact that the shape of this cuirass resembles the side(Gawa in Japanese) of Oke(Japanese wooden tub).

\nAfter receiving the full payment from you, we will apply for its export permit from the ageny for Cultural Affairs to legally export the antique Samurai armor to other countries. It normally takes around 1-1.5 months<\/strong> to receive this permit. And we would like you to expect at least 1-2 months for your order to arrive at your given address after you ordered.<\/p>\n

\nWe offer Free International Shipping<\/strong> as long as we can send antique Samurai armor by either EMS or DHL(If EMS can’t ship to your country). We will send you a tracking number for your order as soon as we hand it to the post office\/DHL. We will put 100 % insurance on the shipping document without any extra charge. Based on the total amount, there might be a duty tax or other fee for you to pay, depending on the countries. We use package cushioning to protect the item.<\/p>\n

It will normally takes 5-14 days for the item to arrive at your given address after we dispatch it. Time of delivery is estimated as accurately as possible by the carrier but does not take into account any delays beyond our control such as by inclement weather, post office holiday seasons.<\/p>\n

\u3010How To Preserve Antique Samurai Armor\u3011<\/strong>
\nDryness, humidity, and bad ventilation might deteriorate the condition of antique Samurai armor. The best temperature to preserve Samurai armor is around 20\u2103 in Celsius, and humidity should be about 60%.\u00a0 Direct sunlight should be avoided. We recommend storing armors in a room with good ventilation. If you like to display them outside the boxes for a prolonged time, we suggest using a glass case in order for dust not to be accumulated easily. In case you don’t use a glass case, please make sure to regularly dust off\u00a0 from the armor by using a soft brush made of delicate cloth or brush for painting.<\/p>\n
