They are typically displayed in Japanese alcoves called Tokonoma (\u5e8a\u306e\u9593) in homes or tea rooms, and they can vary in size, but they are usually vertical and made from materials like silk or paper. They are not just decorative, but also often convey seasonal themes, poetry, or philosophical messages, reflecting the beauty of nature and the changing seasons.
