\u3010Description\u3011<\/span><\/strong>
\nThis Wakizashi sword was forged by Hizen Karatsusumi Takada Kawachi Kami Minamoto Motoyuki(\u80a5\u524d\u5510\u6d25\u4f4f\u9ad8\u7530\u6cb3\u5185\u5b88\u6e90\u672c\u884c)<\/span>
\n\u00a0His long signature came from how he spent his life as a swordsmith. He first forged his sword in Takata(Today\u2019s Oita prefecture) and then moved to Karatsu. After a while, he relocated himself to the east side of Edo city working for the Hon-ami family and eventually received the name \u201cMotoyuki\u201d from them. He studied for the rest of his life learning sword-forging techniques. There were four-generations of Motoyuki. This sword was forged in the\u00a0 six year of Hou-ei period(1709 A.D.)<\/span><\/p>\n

This sword has a Tokubetsu Hozon certificate issued by NBTHK. This authentication paper was only given to Japanese swords, especially worth preserving by Nihon Bijutsu Touken Hozon Kyokai(the Society for the Preservation of the Japan Art Sword).<\/span><\/p>\n

Nakago<\/strong><\/span>\uff1aNakago is the hilt of the Japanese sword. There is the inscription on this blade. It says “\u80a5\u524d\u5510\u6d25\u4f4f\u9ad8\u7530\u6cb3\u5185\u5b88\u6e90\u672c\u884c”(the maker’s name) on the front and “\u5b9d\u6c38\u516d\u5e74\u5409\u6708\u65e5”(the year the blade was forged)on the back.<\/strong><\/span>

Habaki<\/strong><\/span>\uff1a Habaki is the equipment to make the blade not touch its scabbard inside. It prevents the blade from getting rusty and chipped.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

Authentication Paper<\/strong><\/span>\uff1aNBTHK TOKUBETSU Hozon Certificate for the blade<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0NBTHK, also known as Nihon Bijutsu Touken Hozon Kyokai (the Society for the Preservation of the Japan Art Sword), is one of the oldest Japanese sword appraising organizations in modern-day Japan. They authenticated the blade on August 26th in the first year of Reiwa(2019). They appraised it as Tokubetsu Hozon Touken, the blade especially worth preserving for Japanese society. The purchaser will receive this original certificate as well.<\/span><\/p>\n

Registration Number : <\/strong><\/span>Osaka 9637<\/span><\/strong>
\n\u00a0The Board of Education in Osaka prefecture issued a registration paper for this sword . In order to obtain this paper, the sword needs to be traditionally hand forged. With this paper, its owner can legally own an authentic Japanese sword in Japan.<\/span><\/p>\n

\n The Japanese swords we deal with are hand-forged edged swords made from the traditional carbon steel called TAMAHAGANE(\u7389\u92fc)<\/span><\/a>. Samurai Museum is familiar with the proper legal procedure for an antique\/ authentic Japanese sword to be exported from Japan. Each Japanese sword is registered under the Agency for Cultural Affairs and the Board of Education in Japan.They issue a registration paper for each Japanese sword for its owner in Japan to legally possess it. To legally export the sword from Japan to other countries, we will have to apply for its permit to the Agency for Cultural Affairs(Bunkacho) and return the original registration paper to the Board of Education. Once we receive the export permit, we will inform you and ask if it is okay for us to ship. After confirming you are ready to receive the sword, we will proceed with its shipping. We use package cushioning to protect the item and put it in a PVC pipe, which is one of the most secure packages because of its durability.<\/span><\/p>\n

We ship with EMS, an international expedited shipping service provided by Japan Post in Japan. We will send you a tracking number for your order as soon as we hand it to the post office.
