\n\u00a0This wooden sword stand is suitable for exhibiting a Katana sword. As seen in the example pictures, you could also display a Daisho (Katana & Wakizashi) set. You could enjoy this item as a sword stand or interior decoration in your room. Black lacquer and the Makie (\u8494\u7d75) technique effectively make an elegant look of this sword stand. It is a typical Japanese lacquer art technique developed uniquely in Japan for about 1,200 years. Firstly, it needs to draw a picture with lacquer on the surface with a thin brush. Next, sprinkle the gold powder from above to show the pattern before the lacquer hardens. This technique makes a gorgeous and elegant look to works.

\u00a0You would find a golden mark is designed on the front of this stand. It is applied here as a family crest, and this crest is called the Maru-ni Ken Katabami Mon (\u4e38\u306b\u5263\u7247\u55b0\u6587). The Katabami (\u7247\u55b0) is a plant with a heart mark shape. People thought this plant design represented the prosperity of descendants; therefore, many Samurai warriors favored this pattern. The Ken Katabami is a combination of sword and Katabami leaves. It is said that people have associated with the Samurai by incorporating the sword motif. Understandably, lots of Samurai families used the Ken Katabami Mon. It shows the relationship between this plant motif and the Samurai culture.<\/span><\/p>\n
