\n\u00a0This item is the Hara-Ate (\u8179\u5f53). It is a form of Japanese Yoroi (\u93a7) armor and has a simplified structure compared to the Haramaki (\u8179\u5dfb) and Doumaru (\u80f4\u4e38). The Haraate was used from the Kamakura period (1185-1333) to the Muromachi period (1336-1573). This gear protects the front of a body and the side of a stomach. It is easy to wear and take off, but on the other side to that is, its defense power is low. According to a theory, the part that protects a torso extended to the back and developed into the Haramaki. It is said that low-ranked Samurais principally wore Haraates in the Kamakura period. And in the late Muromachi period, it was widely spread. Due to its lightweight, high-ranked Samurais or priests wore Haraates under their clothes in self-defense. In the Edo period, the Hukko Chou (\u5fa9\u53e4\u8abf, retro-style trend) emerged, and there was a trend to reproduce armors with style established by the Kamakura period. We believe this Haraate is one of them.

\nDryness, humidity, and bad ventilation might deteriorate the condition of antique Samurai armor. The best temperature to preserve Samurai armor is around 20\u2103 in Celsius, and humidity should be about 60%.\u00a0 Direct sunlight should be avoided. We recommend storing armors in a room with good ventilation. If you like to display them outside the boxes for a prolonged time, we suggest using a glass case in order for dust not to be accumulated easily.
