What is Jitte?
Jitte is the specialized weapon used by the police officers during the Edo Period(1603-1868). During the Edo period, Samurai warriors played a role as police officers. Jitte means ten hands in Japanese. This weapon is called Jitte because it is so powerful that its user feels it worth ten hands for one Jitte.
It is an ornament called the “Kara-Jishi(唐獅子)“. This is an art decoration of a Lion, drawn on folding screens, or brans. It is recommended to decorate your room as it is an ornament. We think it will be very pleased as a gift.
Kano Eitoku … He is a thoroughbred born to a family of painters. He also presented pictures to Nobunaga and Hideyoshi, and his paintings were very popular. And still one of the famous painters.
